With Halloween just around the corner, it’s only fitting that we pay tribute to one of the staple traditions of this ghoulish holiday: the jack o’lantern. Named after the cool phenomenon of light sometimes flickering over peat bogs, our pumpkin carving traditions go way back.
Before you sharpen your carving tools and print out those stencils, how about some inspiration? Instead of looking for the ‘cool’ pumpkins to show you, we tweaked the criteria to bring you the disgusting and creepiest of pumpkins.

Even though some of these carvings can be gross and downright unsettling at times, they all have one thing in common: the skill level required to bring them to life is sheer insanity.
