Retired Seniors Become Hollywood Movie Stars For A Day

This story is as adorable as it gets! A nursing home in Germany (the Contilla Retirement Group in Essen) has produced one of the most ‘in-demand’ calendars of 2014.  The stars of the show? Dapper looking senior citizens of course :).

With the help of a team of professional stylists and photographers, the seniors models – ranging from 76 to 98 years old – were transformed into their favourite movie characters, recreating some of the more iconic film scenes to hit the big screen. In total, 12 movie scenes were recreated for the Classics 2014 calendar, ranging from classics such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s to Rocky.

It warms my heart that these nursing home residents were given the opportunity to feel like glamorous Hollywood stars (and starlets!) on the shoot. In doing so, they’ve captured the hearts of everyone worldwide.

5,000 calendars were created and distributed amongst the nursing home’s residents and their families. There are no plans to reprint them for wider distribution just yet, but you can count on us to let you know as soon as that becomes an option!
