Disney just announced a slate of nine live-action movies based on popular fairy tales. Nine! Among them is a live-action adaptation of the story of the 101 dalmatians and its black-and-white-haired, fur-wearing villain, titled Cruella. No release date has been revealed, but we know who’s going to play Cruella De Vil: Emma Stone.
Considering the title, we can speculate that the movie is going to be more of an origins story for Cruella. It also makes sense with an actress as young as Emma Stone, since Cruella seemed much older when she was around the spotted dogs. Maybe we won’t even see the dogs in this movie?
It’s an exciting change in Stone’s filmography, since she hasn’t really played any villains yet
The Amazing Spider-Man actress is also currently filming the musical comedy La La Land with Ryan Gosling, and is set to star as Billie Jean King in Battle of the Sexes, based on the 1973 tennis match between King and Bobby Riggs.
What do yo think?
Will Emma Stone make the perfect young Cruella De Vil?
