This is the real-life story of a loving couple named Ben Nunery and his wife Ali, who got married in 2009. At the time, they had just closed on a new home they had purchased, and took the opportunity to have their wedding photographs taken in the empty home. Two years later, tragedy struck. Ali lost her battle with cancer and died at the age of 31. She was survived by her husband and their young daughter, Olivia.
When Ben and Olivia decided to move into a different home, they wanted to say goodbye to the old one. To honour his wife Ali’s memory, Ben and his daughter recreated those magical photos from Ben and Ali’s wedding day – it was a way to remember the happy times.
I won’t lie, by the time I got to the end of these photos I had tears streaming down my face. This story is as touching and bittersweet as it gets.
