These 5 Homes Are Perfect In Case Of A Zombie Apocalypse. The Last One Is Probably The Safest!

If there’s one thing the Walking Dead show has taught me, it’s the importance of location, location, location! Wide open areas, elevated ground, and quiet countrysides would give you the best fighting chance of survival against those brain-hungry walkers.

We’ve rounded up some of the best homes from around the world that offer all these things. They’re private, secluded and…unfortunately cost an arm and a leg (sorry, couldn’t resist the pun).

#1 – Located in the misty mountains of Nagano, Japan, this home was designed by Kidosaki Architects. It’s got views to die for, a clean minimalist interior layout, AND clear vantage points!

➥ Hope you’re comfortable with heights – half the house is suspended directly over the mountain!

➥ A nice shot of the breakfast bar overlooking the living room. I especially love the white wood stove in the corner.

#2 – With the mountains at your back and an ocean view in front, it doesn’t get much better than this. This glass house is located in sunny California – so you can work on your tan in between staying alive!

➥ Much of the Safe House’s energy is renewable – using heat pumps and solar panels to generate passive heating.

#4 – This countryside home in Austria isn’t built of stone and concrete, but its private location more than makes up for that! It’s the perfect blend of tradition and modern day design.

➥ Each of the three levels of the house has outdoor access – why don’t more houses do this??

#5 – Zombies can’t swim. It’s science. That simple fact, makes this next house our top pick for the safest getaway home! This bungalow can even float from place to place, giving you excellent mobility and scenery changes on demand.
